I had a postpartum restorative massage with Iris. I had some soreness in different areas of my body, lower back and shoulders, because of the postures I was in for hours during breastfeeding. Also I hadn’t been able to do any physical exercise for weeks, which made me feel very stiff.
I was feeling a little disconnected with my body because of the changes it had gone through during pregnancy. I was unsure going to the massage so shortly after giving birth (3 weeks) since my body hadn’t returned to its typical form and I wasn’t able to lay on my belly because it caused pain to my chest and increased lactation. These things made me very self conscious and stressed before the treatment.
But I didn’t have to. Iris made me feel very comfortable from the second I entered the room and had created a very relaxing atmosphere with lights, music and scent. Iris was making sure I was comfortable in the postures during the massage and gave me chance to tell if something didn’t feel right or was too strong – in my situation nothing was. The restorative touch felt very suitable for a postpartum body. I got relief to the physical soreness from the treatment but also felt calm and relaxed mentally after getting a moment just for myself.”
